This month we added 6 new features and 19 enhancements to CFM. We present our highlights of December.

CFM Updates - December 2023

We are continuously upgrading Cloud Fleet Manager, adding new functionality, enhancements and improving the overall usability. With this article, we would like to give you a brief overview of some of the greater edits to the system. For a comprehensive overview of all changes, you can visit the “What’s New” report in Cloud Fleet Manager at any time to see what exactly happened in each of our modules.

New features and enhancements

CFM Certificates ensures that you all your necessary certificates are up to date and this way, that your vessels are seaworthy. It provides you with various options for the setup of certificate types, such as pre-warning periods, categorization on the revalidation (on expiry, annual or intermediate surveys), the definition of port- or flag-state requirements, or the assignment of responsibilities.

  • New permission-bound option to create certificate copies has been added.
  • Remarks added to certificates in the settings are now displayed on assigned vessels.

CFM Disturbance Report lets your crew easily create detailed, standardised service requests that can be directly assigned to the person responsible and which will then appear automatically within their dashboard. You can follow-up all service requests in a Kanban view, which gives you a full transparency an all pending requests and their individual status.

  • Closed and ongoing disturbances can now be exported as Excel files.
  • The 'Open Requisitions' card displays the Charter Name of vessels instead of the Christian Name.

CFM Crewing is your one-stop solution to handle all crew-related tasks centrally and in an intuitive way. From master data management of seafarers, planning the crews on board as well as their relief, the management of working and rest hours of the crew up to managing payrolls, everything can be done in one single solution.

  • The activity log now tracks all actions affecting payment accounts, including e-wallet modifications, for comprehensive oversight.
  • Search results for airports now prioritize best matches, improving search efficiency.
  • The advanced search for ‘Employment Type’ now includes 'Non-Crew' individuals.
  • Custom flight request's travel agency field auto-fills when only one agency is available, simplifying the selection process.
  • Rest hours deficiency calculations have been adjusted for overlapping periods, enhancing accuracy.
  • Crewing performance reports can now be disabled to maintain accurate status validation, with a new permission implemented for this feature.
  • The 'Automatic Seafarer Deactivation' setting, initially introduced for non-crew members to manage inactive periods, has been expanded to include Voyage Employees and Permanent Employees. This allows for the automatic transition of seafarers to any status when their last active engagement exceeds a defined threshold, significantly streamlining the management and upkeep of the crew database.
  • The ‘Creditor No.’ for seafarers no longer needs to be numeric, and ‘Place of Birth’ is now a mandatory field.

CFM Maintenance allows you to plan your maintenance work centrally, precisely and according to your requirements. It gives you full visibility of your fleet status and lets you regain control over the maintenance jobs of your fleet.

  • The ModuleSetting table now features standardized names for PK and DF constraints.
  • Users receive a message if the equipment tree search yields no results, aiding in data retrieval.
  • Converting equipment to a component now copies job definitions' attachments for comprehensive job displays.

CFM Ports & Yards offers you one place for all port and yards master data which helps you to find contact details and other information quickly. Define if ports are in war zones and forewarn your crew - Access yard data like dock dimensions and contact details without the need to request information.

  • Inversion of latitude and longitude positions for ports ensures precise geographical data representation.

CFM Procedures enables you to send instructions to your vessels fast and easily, making sure that your fleet is up to date regarding e.g. safety instructions - achieving compliance with ease. Effortlessly send company policies and work instructions, or assign responsibilities aboard your ships.

  • New interval options for read confirmations in certain patterns increase compliance.
  • Users can specify ranks for mandatory procedure read confirmations.
  • The read confirmation matrix allows quick status reviews of requested read confirmations per vessel and procedure.

CFM Purchase provides you with all sections of the purchasing process at one point in an intelligently structured manner, gives you full control over your budgets and allows your suppliers to work directly with this information. Thanks to an intuitive dashboard that features the most relevant information and upcoming tasks, CFM Purchase always focuses on what is important and streamlines the complete purchasing workflow.

  • Package items are now sorted by position numbers when planning deliveries from warehouses.
  • Suppliers can download inquiries as Excel files, simplifying the upload process.
  • Orders can now be fully managed through a new API call, covering items, destinations, and cancellations.
  • Users can specify whether changes in requisition item quantities should reflect in inquiries and orders, with automatic price recalculations.
  • A warning message alerts users about attachments not uploaded to the cloud.
  • Contracted requisition items now feature dedicated icons, with pre-filled contracted prices upon supplier selection.
  • A new API call allows updating existing requisitions with spare parts information.
